Experimental Design
Aletheia has extensive experience in designing bespoke experiments in X-ray CT, ensuring world class image quality and measurement confidence in component analysis. This form of consultancy includes:
- Identification of the most suitable X-ray CT instruments for the required experiment
- Organising data acquisition and sample preparation
- Optimisation of scan parameters and on the day data acquisition. This can include the use of Image Quality Indicators (IQI) for metrology grade experiments
- Measurement confidence calculations for identified defects using Aletheia’s IQI designs and analysis software
- Post data analysis for the identification of defects. This includes the application of measurement confidence and spatial resolution calculations for the identified component defects

X-ray CT Instrument Selection
Choosing the right X-ray CT instrument can be a very difficult process due to both the wide range and non standardised test criteria. Aletheia’s expertise in X-ray Imaging can be utilised to design suitable test specimens specifically to your institutions needs and ensuring a rigorous testing procedure. In addition our inhouse IQI’s can be used to numerically quantify the measurement confidence and spatial resolution results from different instrument. This allows you to fairly assess each instruments capabilities and how it fits with your companies needs. In addition the IQI measurements can be used as a baseline result for post installation to ensure the instrument meets the agreed spatial resolution and image quality levels.
